The Jubilee is an event of extraordinary importance within the Catholic tradition, because it is a year of grace, forgiveness and spiritual renewal. During this occasion, the faithful are invited to reflect on their life of faith and to renew their commitment to be witnesses of Christ. The elements that characterise the Jubilee, such as the Holy Door and the visit to the four major basilicas, not only represent a call to conversion and hope, but are an integral part of any pilgrimage to Rome. The eternal city, with its deep history and its role as the seat of the Papacy, is the ideal place to fully live the Jubilee experience, making the Holy Year a moment of intense spiritual union for Christians from all over the world.
We, Missionaries of the Divine Revelation, will try to illustrate and explain the symbols, motivations and meanings of what the Jubilee is and what it represents.
